I have been a colleague with Barbro Seiger for more than ten years and know her as very competent and experienced in her subject, music.

Barbro has a vast knowledge of what every age needs to meet within the music and has the ability to present and vary songs, dance and instruments in a way that inspires and makes the students curious.

Barbro consciously works with the social climate in the student groups and uses both her humour and methodical knowledge as she plans the lessons.

In addition, Barbro has an ability to see each individual student without losing the coherent grip in classroom teaching.

Barbro has a unique ability to work with children and play and practice dances, songs and pieces of music together with them. The children, together with her, experience walking from the first tentative tones to a complete whole.

Barbro always works for the children to find joy in moving, singing and playing and that they feel safe and secure throughout the process. Through Barbro's thorough way of working, she strengthens both the social and musical life of the classes she works in.

Barbro always looks for a main thread in her work, such as a festival, a season, an author or music style that you work with and often the result becomes a solid program and deepened knowledge not only in music.

In her teaching, Barbro is sensitive to the needs of the children and often writes new arrangements for the class. In this way, she inspires the children to be creative and playful and it results in a rewarding achievement where the children also contribute with ideas about melodies and new texts.

My students have Barbro to thank for many musical performances, singing and flute evenings. Even in class nine we dance Barbro´s dance games for Christmas in the classroom. And the students bring a great treasure of songs and melodies into their life.
