Certificate of service for
Barbro Seiger from The Kristofferschool
(A summary from)
Barbro Seiger has worked as a music teacher at the Kristofferschool during the periods 1989-2000 and 2006-07-01 - 2016-08-10. Barbro has taught in all year courses. In recent years, she has been assigned a task as a head teacher to further develop school music education.
Barbro has worked with regular education in both a whole class and with individual students and groups in need of support in music. She has worked as a leader for the high school choir and conducted several major music projects with different classes together.
Throughout the years, Barbro has been a supportive employee in the work on the planning of the monthly parties in the Kristofferschool.
She has held a "waldorfboost", a continuing education for class teachers at the school and lectured in open classes for future parents and students of the school. Barbro has continually contributed to the practice of her colleagues.
Even outside of school, Barbro has been pedagogically active. She has been involved in continuing education of teachers and students at WLH (The Waldor Teachers´ High School) and the former WMLU (The Waldorf Music Teacher Education) for nine years, and a two-year music education and including summer courses for prospective and active music teachers in Waldorf schools in Sweden.
Barbro has been a great asset to the Kristofferschool, a key person in the school's music life and an employee with great commitment. Joy and enthusiasm has characterized her musical efforts and she has conveyed this further and contributed to high-quality student performances.
For example, there is a medieval Mikael game presented by grade three with accompanying high school students and finely sounded lantern walk together with the school's November party. A few highlights of the monthly celebrations were the “sea” of block flute players in the grand hall and external concerts such as the Eric Ericson Hall 2011 medieval music.
With many thanks to a competent, responsible and creative employee. The Kristofferschool wishes Barbro all the best for her future assignments.
Wenche Rönning, Rector Principal Kristofferskolan
Bromma 2016-12-20
The Kristofferschool is Sweden's oldest Waldorf school. For more than 65 years the school has been teaching students of different ages. Today, the school has approximately 720 students in classes F-12, which means that the education extends from pre-school class to high school. The teaching is taking place in attractive premises in central Bromma, just northwest of Stockholm city. For more information about the school and the activities see the school's website.

Service Certificate from the Kristofferschool, written by Marianne Jonsson, for the school board
Barbro was a very dedicated committed and appreciated music teacher. With her happy enthusiasm, she has encouraged the students to achieve very good results in terms of singing and instrumental music. She has had a very good hand with students with special needs. The cooperation with colleagues has worked excellently. We will miss her a lot here at school. We would highly recommend Barbro to similar work.

Service Certificate from the South Miami Waldorf School written by Liana Wilcox, class teacher and Chairman
Barbro was an excellent teacher of music. She played the violin, piano and guitar in her classes beside the flutes and always expressed a deep love for music. She was demanding of the students that they give complete attention to the lessons and always encouraged the children to take pleasure in their own best efforts. She was also sensitive to the need for a breathing energy in the forty-five minute period for music
/.../
She had a wonderful way of teaching new songs and harmonies by focusing on small parts for mastery. Then she would bring them back to the whole with deft orchestration so that the children would discover what a beautiful sound the group could evoke.
/.../
... In faculty meetings Barbro was most helpful in focusing attention on problems affecting the school community...
/.../
Barbro strove to be whole heartedly present and awake in every moment, giving her full attention to the issue at hand.
/.../
... She also volunteered her time again and again to help the school where her energy and enthusiasm seemed to have no limits.
